The drive from Malaga to Los Corrales takes just over an hour, and you pass through the Guadalhorce Reservoirs, which can be summed up in just one word: “stunning”.
They are so good that residents of Corrales Country Park often go there for a day out. There are several good restaurants overlooking the lake.
Once you pass the lakes, you come to the small town of Campillos, which is only a few kilometres from Los Corrales.
As you travel from Campillos to Los Corrales, you can see with your own eyes why Spain is a major producer of green energy in Europe.
Once you arrive in Los Corrales, two words will sum up how you feel: “so Spanish”.
Being very Spanish does not mean it lacks everything you could possibly need. Here are some examples of what you will find in the village.
Supermarkets – Health centre – Banks – Tapas bars – Restaurants – Municipal pool – Sports facilities
Starting in May, the local ferias draw people and their horses. The local population totals 4000, with quite a few entire families in the village. Traditions run deep, and of course, residents in Corrales Country Park are always welcome to join in.
For transport hubs, you have Campillos, Osuna and Antequera. You also have the option of Seville Airport or Malaga.
